Is there anyway I can create a freeze frame on a generator I created in motion?

Put it in a compound clip.

Duh. Just worked it out…
Although I am having an issue whereby I am transforming the compound clip and the generated clip within it does not seem to be moving.

Meaning you are trying to change the position of the clip, but the generator stays put?
