I’m starting with a client very soon who has (the watermarked) 12.5 free version . I have the paid version with dongle.
Is it the case that I can just take my dongle along and it will open up the features I will need not least noise reduction.
Or will I have to re download the paid version on their system?

    Thanks for any help.

[Dan Davis] “will I have to re download the paid version on their system?”

    Yes. That is my understanding.

Thanks for getting back to me on this. That’s a shame as I get the impression they don’t want freelancers tinkering with their set-up.

    Thanks again.

Have to wonder if that would be a result of bitter experience or fearful naivety.

As much as the dongle unlocks the program, Resolve and Resolve Studio are two distinctly different programs. Same with Fusion and Fusion Studio.

What do you mean by “watermarked”? There’s no such thing. The free version is fully functional up to UHD. It misses stereo3D and noise reduction features, but that’s pretty much it.

If you use any of the BMD OFX plugins that are Studio licensed, they will print with a watermark.

Ah, I see. So far I’ve never used any of these on the free version. I had just assumed they weren’t included.

Ended up up taking my dongle in and downloading studio. All worked very well!

I don’t think they aren’t included, but if you have a project started on studio, with plugins, and then open it on a free version, you will get the watermark on those clips.
