Free grunge/dirt mattes – where
Posted by Rob Hindley on June 22, 2006 at 12:38 amI am looking to give some footage a dirty street look. Are there any free resources for achieving this?

June 22, 2006 at 12:53 amYou could try googling “3D”, “texture map”, “dirt” and “grime”.
A good way to make these is to shoot some dirty streets with a digital camera, then use Photoshop’s offset filter to create a tileable texture. You start with a square image, offset it in both directions so it sort of looks like it’s chopped into quarters, then use the clone tool to smooth the edges in the middle. It’s been a while — you might want to Google “tileable” “photoshop” and “offset”.

Register for free and have a blast!!
Search for grunge and you’ll find what you want.
