Freakishly Slow Playback in Edit
Hi guys, I am using Sony Vegas PRO 7. While editing tonight a 60 min edit, playback is SLOW… I am doing a lot of curves and color correction all within Vegas. My playback frame rate is dropping to 4 FPS. I don’t recall this issue….
Is it time to upgrade? Any suggestions on what I can check in Vegas or my PC?

Did you try to reduce the preview resolution?
Another thing I like to do is RENDER TO NEW TRACK (Ctrl M) of CPU-intensive parts of the timeline. The advance of this is that you still can change the original effects, but when there is no change needed, this prerendered files will only be copied during the final rendering. So no second time rendering is required.
