Which sequence preset in Premiere Pro do I have to choose when I use the Sony Camcorder HDR-CX115?
The frames used with this camcorder have the extension MTS.
When I choose the sequence preset of DV PAL, I get the best result when making a DVD with Encore. But the frames are not entirely shown (they are cut around). Who can give me advise with this problem?

    Hi Frits,

You are dealing with HD footage.

Your best option is to edit in HD, creating a new AVCHD sequence, then exporting as Mpeg 2 DVD, or to Encore via Dynamic Link.

In CS5, you can also drag one of the files to the “New Sequence” icon at the bottom of the project panel, that will create a sequence matching your footage

    Hi Vince,

Thank you very much for your fast reaction!! I will give it a try.
Can you explain why the quality, when chosen for DV PAL is better on the final DVD (made with Encore), compared to when chosen for example the XDCAM EX sequence setting. In this setting you see more ‘moiree’.
    Kind regards, Frits.

This is because you weren’t scaling down to fit the frame. When you create an HD sequence Encore does the scaling to fit the DVD frame.

Make sure you choose Maximum Quality for your encoding as it will affect scaling quality. That will also make the encode quite a bit longer…
