    Hi,

I’m working on a 1080i 25p shot project in the BMD DVCPro HD 1080 50i codec. I have read before that the codec for 25p and 50i is (understandably) identical hence not making my own capture setting.

My question is that when I apply a animated scale onto the footage the scale animation is rendered in fields – but I want to stay in frames to suit the rest of the project.

I know that when i’m on a DS I can select to render and calculate procesing in frames, but where is the equivalent in FCP 5.

    Thanks,

    Paul

You have to change the “Field Dominance” in the sequence setting to “None” if you want to render in frames rather than fields. It’s not possible to do it on an effect-by-effect basis as you can on DS.
