Framerate Delivery
I have a project that needs to be delivered at 23.98, and all my source footage is at 23.98.
This project has a sequence with a ‘sidescrolling’ effect with the footage laid out end to end. Unfortunately at this framerate the effect appears choppy, and is difficult for the eye to track. This sequence has to be in the cut, and the timing/speed has to remain the same.
I’ve solved it in the meantime by interpreting to 30f, but have since confirmed with the client that delivery has to remain at 23.98.
I’ve also tried applying a motion blur, which helps smooth out the stutter, but renders the footage unreadable.Any thoughts? Thank you!

If you can’t change the timing/speed, and you can’t change the framerate, then you are out of options.
If you can adjust the design, aim for soft edges and lower contrast — but the best solution here, given the 23.976 framerate, would be to slow down the move.

You could also try either some Directional Blur, or any of the other blurs that let you blur the horizontal only.
