  • Framelink – need Decklink card presence ?

Posted by Christopher Tay on October 22, 2006 at 9:19 am

    Hi,

Sorry if this has been covered before but just wanna confirm if the Decklink card is needed inorder to use the Framelink app ? I’ve been doing some QT to DPX conversion and the only machine that works with the Framelink is the one with the Decklink card inside.

Any reason why the card need to be present for it to work ?

    Thanks,

    -chrispy

    Hi Chrispy,

Yes, a DeckLink card or Multibridge PCIe is required for FrameLink to work.

    Hi Luke,

    Thanks for the confirmation.

Any reason why the hardware is required for it to work ? Does it use the hardware for the processing ?

Framelink doesn’t work if you are in a domain evironnement.

I think there are special rights needed.

Does anyone has experience with framelink in a domain?

    Hi Chrispy,

I think it is just to make our product offerings more attractive and is not related to processing.

    Hi,

Can you please provide some more details of the problem you are encountering as I haven’t heard of this before and am not aware of such a requirement.

    Hi,

When I am using a valid movie. There is always the following error.

I think it could work in a domain. However what rights are needed to mount a movie?

    Greets,
