So, I’ve been editing an HD project with 8 scenes using separate sequences for each scene. Now that I was finished with some of the editing I was wanting to put them all onto a NEW sequence and see the scenes together…

I realized something was off when every-time I copied and pasted the clips would not retain their keyframes, nor stay in sync.

I investigated and found that when I was first editing in separate timelines, the frame rate was 23.98 but I had not set the editing timebase before copying and pasting.
Now that I found out what the problem was I checked all of the 8 different sequences and found one sequence with the settings at 29.97…!!!
As I try to copy that and bring it into the NEW sequence, noy only does it NOT keep the edit bit the picture is about half the size…

    What should I do…???

Honestly, there is no very quick fix. While I’m sure you’ve learned your lesson now, the only advice I have is that you need to very careful about your sequence settings. You can try pasting attributes to get some of that keyframing back, that is very much a crap shoot since it will all be approximate, and not extremely accurate. The other thing, is that you will probably have 1 frame gaps intermittently between clips. Same deal, you’ll need to fix those manually. I’ve been there, it’s no fun.

Richard, Thanks so much for responding and I appreciate your empathy…

My apologies for not thanking you sooner but I was just too wrapped up in this situation that I had to just set it down for few days. Now I’m back on it. I’ll let you know how it ends up.

Everything you mentioned though, is exactly what’s happened.

    best regards,
