Frame rate problem

January 13, 2020 at 3:54 amI was shooting something the other day and made a mistake while in a hurry. Camera BMPC 4k- I was alternating between off speed 60FPS and sound sync 23,98. I got caught out transitioning from B roll to Sound sync and shot a sound sync clip at 60 instead of 23.98. I have dual system audio recording of the speaker at the event which is good.
when I drop the 60 fps clip on my time line , of course it is playing in slo mo as one would expect.
Is there a way to get the video to play in a way ( at something close to 23.98) maybe with a retime, so I can salvage some sound sync moments from this one speaker? -

January 13, 2020 at 4:43 pmSo here’s my workaround to my self created problem.
1) new project in library
2) place 60fps clip in that project
3) detach audio
4) match up last frame of video with end of detach clip audio
5) export that project
6) Import retimed clip with audio. The sync is very very close, if not perfect. Certainly good enough to work with for my needs.
If some one has a 2 click method to solve the same problem I’m open to that, however this was easy enough. I first tried solving the problem in Resolve and it proved the concept, and then repeated the process in FCP project.

January 14, 2020 at 2:02 pmI’m going to add one other note to this thread in closing. What made this work around super easy was that the BMPC 4K records audio even in off speed frame rates which is unusual in the camera world. So retiming the video to the exact length of the audio to a matter of seconds . If it had been necessary to sync up dual system audio with a retimed MOS piece of video, it could have been done but certainly that would have been a more time consuming fiddly project.
