Frame Rate Converter
Hey
I am trying to convert a source tape that was shot at 60fps for offspeed. I am working with a FCP project that is 59.94. Is there another way to do this without capturing it at 24fps? I tried using the Frame Rate Converter in FCP 6 but got an error message regarding the original material not being 59.94. I tried the conversion with a tape that has already been captured at 59.94 and got the same message.
When using the frame rate converter does the clip need to be in a timeline?

So you shot your footage at 60P and you want it to be slow motion at 24P? I haven’t used the frame rate converter for a while, so I’m not sure I can help you with that.
What I do is open the clip in Cinema Tools and then conform it to 23.98. This works great, but you have to make sure that your footage is true 60P and not 24 or 30 with duplicate frames to make 60P.
