Frame Rate Conversion using Compressor
Here’s the problem: I have 2 sets of footage shot at different frame rates. EX1 footage was shot at 1080p24 (which is also the time base I need to edit in, 23.98) and HVX200 footage shot at 1080p30. I need to convert the 29.97 footage down to 23.98. I’ve tried the advanced pulldown option. I’ve tried reverse telecine. But I’m still getting the same results: interlaced footage. I’ve read through many forums on here and now I’m hoping that Compressor will help solve this problem.
1. What are the exact steps to convert 29.97 clip to 23.98, using Compressor?
2. Although the DP may claim to have shot in 1080p30, is there a possibility that he shot in a different frame rate, aka 1080pN24 or something else, which is causing these problems?
I’ve read about Terranex too, but I’d like to try the Compressor conversion method first. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Please be concise at possible!
Many thanks-
Meg
