    Hi

    I have a quick time mov clip which is at a video rate of 25fps.
    I want to use this clip in an NTSC sequence so I exported the clip using Quick Time Conversion and changing the video rate to 29.97fps. I also selected DV/DVCPRO NTSC as compression type.

    Howewer I still ended up getting a 25 fps movie. this happened to me before and I dont know why?:(

    Is there any other way of doing this conversion.

    The clip is downloaded from http://www.bbcmotiongallery.com and it states the below;

    Additional Clip Information
    Aspect Ratio: 4:3
    Standard: 625 PAL
    Original Format: 16mm

    Any advice is appreciated

    Zee.

    Have a good day 🙂

    You’ll need to use Cinema Tools to do the proper conversion for you. If you ever get Quicktime to do it correctly, you’ll find out that you video will have a stuttered effect and look terrible. But Cinema Tools is made specifically for this.

    Cinema Tools does’t do this kind of conversion though….

    25p can be slowed to 24p using Cinema Tools, though, but then you still need to add in 3:2 pulldown to go to NTSC. FCP will do that on playout to DV tape, or some cards like Decklink and Kona can also add it on playout.

    Or, you can use my Standards Converter plugin to go from 25p to 29.97fps and this usually looks awesome on 16mm footage, so I’d try that also.
