  • Frame rate conversion and downconversion from HD to SDI – Help!

I will shoot next week with the Varicam in a wide range of camera speeds and shutter apertures as B-roll for a documentary.

In the past, I have sent the footage to get the frame rate conversion done with the Panasonic FRC and downconverted to Digibeta, which has worked fine. This time we are renting the 1200a deck so we can transfer the footage to a Final Touch/FC5 bay for color correction. I have the following questions:

1.Can I do the frame rate conversion and downconvert to uncompress SDI at the same time or do I need to make a second pass? If so, what would be the best workflow
