Posted by J. Carlos on March 7, 2008 at 12:09 amIs there a way to export a final product that was shot in regular NTSC 30 Frames to 23.98/24frames? In FCP?

March 7, 2008 at 12:27 amExport as a self contained QT movie. Reimport that. Drop it into a timeline. Apply the FILM EFFECTS plugin from http://www.nattress.com. A demo is available.

March 7, 2008 at 12:57 amwould this be anywhere near professional quality? would you recomend this to a workflow that shoots in regular 29.97 DV?

March 7, 2008 at 1:02 amSure this is professional quality. Exporting a self contained movie is ZERO quality loss. Reimporting…zero loss. Adding the plugin…zero loss. Only frames are dropped and things arranged so it doesn’t look odd. This plugin is like THE film look plugin. One of the first plugins for FCP, and Graeme NAttress, the guy who wrote it, is one of the writers of the RED codec.

March 7, 2008 at 9:40 pmhey shane – I installed the demos to do some tests, and there are options for fast, smart deinterlaced effects – this is what you are talking about right? It also seems that there is an option for the tolerance level and field order/blend – not really sure what this language is. I looked on the manual but nothing seems to explain the meanings. Suggestion?
