Okay, I realize most of you talented people can do these things by eye and will scorn the idea of a shortcut, but I was just wondering…

Are there any AE plugins (or even stand-alone applications) available that can look at an example frame and come up with curves, gamma settings, highlights/midpoints/shadows info, etc etc.? Is this a ridiculous concept?

I do know of the grain-matching plugin in AE, and there is the Composite Wizard component that will sample a frame and match the general color tone/temp. Anything out there that takes this concept further?

Hmm, nothing? I found that Viviclip 3 Pro will “sort of” do this. Matches general color and does something to the contrast or levels in an attempt to match.

I think I’m just going to have to build one in AE…
