Fractal water surfaces
Hi again.
We’re currently working on a project which is basically a opening. A droplet falls and lands into the sea which then ripples outwards. The sea turns orange with the ripple effect.
We managed to get the droplet moving and it looks alright with motion blur tossed in. Ripples, we managed to get it working with WaveWorld and the morphing of the sea, using a keyframed mask and another layer below.
The problem is, we can’t seem to create the surface of the sea. Since WaveWorld is applied to the image surface, any tilted water surface relative to the image surface doesn’t turn up well. And I can’t seem to find any flat water surfaces. Thus I was wondering if using fractals for the water surface i.e the sea would be possible. Anyone know how to create a sea-like surface using fractals or any way out of this dilemna?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
