  FPC user interface questions

  Being an old dog Media 100 user I am having trouble switching to FPC and understanding it’s logic.

  I want to be able to open a clip from the timeline in the viewer window and have quick access to the various stacked tabs within. I made the assumption that if I dragged the tabs to separate areas on the screen they would remain there and update as I clicked on new clips and thus reflect the characteristics of that particular clip. Why do they re-stack themselves and thus hide every time I activate a new clip, requiring me to again choose the desired tab? I realize that various clips may have different viewer tabs but it seems that if, for instance, one has already opened a motion tab for a clip what is the point of collapsing it instead of updating it to reflect the new clip? Have I missed something?

  Speaking of the motion tab is there a way to reposition an item within a frame via the “center” control besides typing in numbers? Most of the other adjustments therein can be made with a slider.

  Also, is there a way to have the timeline scroll on the fly to re-center the playhead after it has left the screen? Is it really necessary to do a spacebar pause and restart to do so?

  I hope these questions are not too irritatingly newbie.
