  • Formatting Subtitles and Captions gone in Premiere v25.1

Posted by Mark Dagostino on February 26, 2025 at 1:40 pm

I am on Premiere Pro v25.1, build 73 on a Mac. The ability to format subtitles and captions seems to have disappeared. I need to select typeface and a background for text for branding purposes and need this. Does anyone know why this is gone and hoiw can I get it back?

    Hi,

Text editing options are mainly under the Properties panel now. Did you check there?

    Hello Mark,

In Premiere Pro v25.1, the Captions and Graphics Panel (Which is now called “Graphic Templates”) is now only for managing templates, both local and remote. All formatting for user-generated titles, captions, and graphics has been moved to the Properties Panel. If you need to adjust text styling, backgrounds, or other formatting, you’ll find those controls in Window > Properties after selecting your text or caption clip.

    Best,

    Ivan Eldredge G.

Thanks for the fast and spot on reply., Ivan. I selected the caption and the properties window and it was blank. After your reply I decided to restart the program and, voila it works! Gremlins:)
