formatted OSX drive, filesalvaged MXF files, now FCP?
so, this has trouble written all over it and i really how messy it will be to solve this. any and all insight is appreciated.
Short of it:
-I formatted an HSF Extended (not journaled) lacie Rugged drive (but a fast format, not full)
-after format, immediately ejected bc i realized was wrong drive.
-installed FileSalvage and have restored a whole lot of 1.mxf, 2.mxf … and so on files.
-Thru Raylight (demo) i can view QT’s of the video (haven’t figured out audio or timecode)Since the directory structure was lost i’m looking to salvage anything that i can from the MXF files. Being that p2 aud/vid is separate i anticipate some severe issues but want to know if Raylight/P2ProLog will help…and if so, any thoughts on process.
-Is there any hope of pairing audio or sussing that out in some way?
-Where is the TimeCode info stored in MXF’s and is there any hope that i might be able to maintain QT’s with TC?
-Worst-case, even if i can only get picture with timecode i can get audio from posthouse and sync lots to slate.
I only have to do this for 3x16gb cards so its not as bad as it could be. As always with mistakes like these, im on an incredibly tight turn around…amateur mistake, but it happens.
any and all thoughts appreciated!
respectfully and eagerly await feedback,
/josh
