We’re a few weeks out from a finish and we’ve encountered yet another potential problem.

Long story short, is there a way to convert a timeline from a 23.98 fps project that uses a lot of subclipped audio into a 24 fps project without completely ruining your sound? I did a quick copy and paste from the 23.98 project to the 24 and the picture translated fine, no problem, but the audio is about half ok, to a number of frames off.

This wouldn’t be that big of a deal if we hadn’t used subclips, but whenever we try to slip some of the clips, they’ve run out of room. It’s as if the subclip is referencing the source incorrectly. Which, I believe, has been a problem with FCP since day 1.

So, is there an easy way to convert a 23.98 project to 24, without totally throwing off the hundreds (thousands) of audio clips that are in the timeline?

    Thanks

Can you explain in more detail what you are trying to do? I don’t think you can switch from a 23.98 project to 24.00 mid-project. Normally when your finished with the project, you would simply export a Quicktime and conform it to 24.00 using Cinema Tools. This will slow down the audio appropriately.

What Sean says. Conform the final movie from 23.976 to 24.0.
