Encore CS4 is forcing some of my m2v’s to transcode even though they are DVD compliant. I brought in 4 files, all made by the same hardware encoder (Scenarist)and two of them will not let me turn off transcoding. The files work in DVD SP and they work in Encore 1.0. I am CERTAIN that these files are DVD compliant. Please follow the link below if you want to see the specs as I have posted this issue before.

I managed to fix the issue last time by calling tech support. After taking very deep into the registry, they were able to fix it. I was just hoping someone knew where that was.

    Thanks,

    Thad

    Here here,

I didn’t want to come off as a jerk on a forum, but you’re absolutely right. I’ve been using Encore since version 1.0 because quite frankly, there’s not much else in that price range with those capabilities on the PC. Now that I’m on version 4 and I feel like version 1 was more stable, I’m sorry to say I’m switching over to DVD SP on the Mac.

BTW, I talked to tech support and apparently no one knew how to edit the registry as was done before.

Still like Photoshop and After Effects though!

Check out DVD Lab Pro if you want a good authoring tool….for $250 you can’t be it. Nothing comes close on the PC side as far as features and customization.
