Any way to force a red line on a sequence? Through Adobe Link, I am putting AE Comps onto a PPro Matrox NTSC SD sequence, but PPro doesn’t show a red line (it should). I have to attempt to play these on the timeline, then I may or may not get a red line to render. So I play again, it chokes and takes time to catch up, then gives a red line. Frustrating to go through all that when I know it will need a render. Is this how PPro is suppose to work? I am on a system with dual Xeon 3.33 Ghz Hex-Cores, 24GB of RAM, Quadro4000, and an external ProMax FastMax MiniSAS RAID.

What I would love to see would be an option to right click a portion of the timeline and have a Force Render in the contextual menu. A way to force a green line over any part of the sequence whether PPro thinks it can play it real-time or not.

If there is a yellow over the footage you can force render by hitting Render Entire Work Area in the pulldown menu Sequence.
If its a red line hit Enter.
If there is no coloured line lower the playback resolution.
Try to put your project in a non-Matrox project and see if you have the same issue.

Didn’t think about trying a non-Matrox sequence. I’ll give that a shot and see what happens. I’m not getting any line (red or yellow) over my Dynamic Linked AE projects in PPro… and it’s a hassle to try and get one so it will render.
