i’m in the midst of deciding whether to purchase lux as i’m not sure if it can do what i’d like.

i have a 3d comp with various images spaced out over z space and a camera moving through. the images are transfer mode-d (screen) onto a big big background way back in my z space…

i’d like to have a yellow light beam at the back of my comp – and shine up towards camera, hitting all my images and tainting them with the yellow colour of the light.

i’ve downloaded the demo, and can get it working – almost!! But it seems that lux is having an issue with my transfer modes. When the light hits my image, it lights yellow (great) but when the light isn’t hitting the image then it’s either not able to be seen (when in screen mode) or black (when transfer mode is normal).

Is there a way for my light to hit an image and make it yellow – but when it’s not hitting my image it looks normal?

    Would appreciate your thoughts…

p.s. cheers for the trapcode-people link – great site, and i’ve cross posted 🙂

What do you mean by “it”? When it isnt hitting the images you cant see it? The light source?

And what are you using transfermodes on?? The Lux layer??

    yes sorry hard to explain…!

i am using transfer modes on my image layers – they are transfer moding onto a big big background way back in z space…

when i apply my light way back in z space shining towards camera – my images in screen mode simply disappear. they only appear when they don’t have a transfer mode…

does lux not work with casting light through images with transfer modes?
