    Hi David
If you recall some posts ago I poted a question in regards the issue with the loss of color in my sd dvd.
I spent some time reorganising a new timeline and doing so I checked again all the set ups within FCP to make sure that they follow presidure to produce a sd dvd that looks like in the timeline.
If I recall yourself and also Walter suggested to export from the timeline directly to compressor, well I can export to motion and to soundtrack pro, but I don`t see or have the option to export from it.
Is to much to ask to refresh my memory and tell me how to do it, yes I did try the manual but I couldn`t see export to compressor from timeline. Another thought was this: because the length of the project is only 6:39,aprox 390 MB.
Can I compress to CBR ONE PASS , is going to give me a more accurate reproduction of the timeline in the dvd?
This is my last attempt before paying a technician to check my QUAD.

    Hi Antonio,

Actually, I did not suggest exporting directly from the timeline using Compressor, that was someone else. In fact, I probably would not use that technique in your case.

I think you should simply export a self-contained QT and use that in Compressor to encode your MPEG-2. By all means, try CBR, its not significantly lower quality than VBR encoding despite what many people think, and its possible that it could actually improve the issues you are having.

Meanwhile, I do not believe your issues are hardware related. I believe there is something in your workflow causing the issue. The problem is, instead of being systematic, and trying to isolate the problem, it seems you are adding varibles and changing more than one thing at a time in your efforts to achieve results. That makes it very difficult for you, and very difficult for anyone trying to help you.

Its quite simple, if the footage on your timeline is satisfactory and you are satified that it is properly color corrected, then you should be able to create a fine DVD using Compressor to encode the material. I’ve offered to help by evaluating some of your footage and that offer still stands. Until I know for sure that your material is good I really can’t help you any more than I already have.

    Best of luck,
    David
