have a question. I am capturing video on a Sony EX-3 camera into a Focus Enhancements FS-4 Pro Hd external recorder at 1080i60. I then have to import into Final Cut to edit and then export back out to playback in a church video venue. They use Pro Presenter and playback is choppy. I know I have heard it is better to capture straight to a card on the camera, but I don’t have a big enough card to capture 30 minutes. My question with the current configuration, is it better to import the 1080i file and then export out to QuickTime using H.264 codec to produce the best quality. Really frustrated here and would like to hear feedback.

I’m not familiar at all with Pro Presenter but If that program can play back an MP4 then I would output that. The way I do it is to just use Quicktime Player Pro and export an H.264 with an MP4 wrapper. It looks really good and is a lightweight codec provided your bit rate isn’t excessive.
