I have a a sixty minute mini dv tape tape that I captured to FCP and I want to put it on DVD for someone who may down the rode import it into FCP or imovie. How do I make this fit on a 4.7G DVD? What format will maintain the quality?

    Thanks for the help

You can’t put that much DV footage onto a single DVD and “maintain” the quality.

You need to export Self Contained Quicktime movies using the DV Codec no larger than 4GB each if you plan to lay them onto a series of DVDs.

Better yet, dump the footage to a hard drive and hand that off to the other person.

The hard drive was my answer, but why make it easy. Any idea how many minutes with a sel contained will fit on a 4.7G?

About 4 Minutes Per Gigabyte. About 16 Minutes fit on a DVD at Full DV Quality.
