Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy

Hi to all,
I want to start this post with all my greetings for all of you that in this years help me very much.
So…this is the question….

I must to create a clip from two different kind of footage:
1) .mov 720×576 Apple MPEG2 25fps
2) .mov 1280×960 H.264 30fps

What do you suggest about the timeline in FCP?
And what about the codec? I usually use Apple Pro Res 422 for all my project….

What’s the intended delivery format? a DVD? or a web stream, or?

Good morning Jerry,
the final project must to be a dvd in standard definition and PAL anamorphic format because I would like to have the aspect ratio of 16:9 (for widescreen LCD).
I forgot one thing:

720×576 PAL CCIR 601
1280×960 square pixel

I think I’d work in an SD PAL sequence setting (ProRes) and you’ll need to change the frame rate of the 30fps material to 25.

Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to enlarge the SD footage to fill the frame unless pillar bars are OK.

So: 720×576 PAL timeline @25fps ProRes. Right?

Before to start to edit I’ve downsampling the 1280×960 to a PAL 720×576.
I know that the aspect ratio is different, from a 1,3 to a 1,25, but I don’t think that the processing will distort the images very much…what do you think?
