I am having this recurring problem when capturing video from the JVCgyHD100 to my apple using FCP. Its seems that for some reason the capture searches for media while capturing and I loose part of my footage. This is a new problem and can be problematic when shooting an interview. Has anyone had a similar problem? I have tried zero-ing out my timecode and I never rewind the tape, but still no results.

I have had this issue for years. I don’t try capturing with Fcp anymore. I use dvhscap to capture and use clipwrap to rewrap the files and then import into fcp. It seems to be the only way to avoid the dropped frames.
