  • “Footage” Grayed-Out When Importing TIFF Sequence for Time-Lapse

Posted by Jason Jones on October 18, 2013 at 3:49 pm

In attempting to Import a sequence of either TIFF or Camera Raw images for use in an After Effects time-lapse project, as soon as I select the topmost image in the folder, the Import As: Footage selection becomes grayed-out, I check TIFF Sequence nonetheless, and only the first image imports, with an error message saying “The sequence has 331 missing frames.”

Is this a setting? Why can’t I import a Footage sequence in the normal way …?

    Thanks in advance!

    How’s your file numbering?

I was optimistic that this might be the problem! The file names were all camera-generated, so “_339C3071.tif” was a typical name. However, I just renamed to a more conventional naming, as in “Brescia_TL11116.tif” and got the same result …

Try checking the “force alphabetical” option when you import your sequence.
