What is the best option for burning DV footage direct to a DVD for later use?

Basically I want to take my footage I have shot and burn it into a format that I can archive on a DVD to import into FC for later use but not capture direct to my hard drive then burn.

Is there a real-time burn to DVD option?

    Thanks

    Phil

Capture first, then burn to DVD the quicktime files.

If you record directly to DVD, such as through a DVD Recorder, you’re going to compress everything to MPEG-2 format. That will take your 5:1 compressed DV format and make it about 25:1 compressed MPEG-2. In other words, making your DV quality drop by a LOT.

If you want to avoid capturing, switch to a hard drive acquistion on the camera such as P2, FireStore, XDCAM, etc….
