So I am kinda new to premiere (haven’s CS2 was the last time I used it) so bare with me a little please. Everytime I place footage in my canvas my footage is blurry and looks pixelated. This only happens when I am playing the footage, when it is paused it is a crisp. It is always crisp in the preview window as well.

    The footage is:
    DV NTSC 720×480 widescreen

The Project setting along with the squence setting is:
    48 Khz DV NTSC widescreen

    The System is:
    Quad Core 2.93 GHz
    Snow Leapord
    1.5 tb
    8gig

The canvas is not stretched at all either. Weather I have it one 100% or fit (which is smaller) i have the same problem.

    Any help would be great

    Thank you

i would say you have the resolution on the timeline, different than the footage resolution. If there is a red line above your timeline, press enter to render.

If that doesn’t do it. right click the source monitor and make sure it is set to 100% resolution.

If that isn’t it check your preview settings, they may not be set to opengl.

If that isn’t it, maybe your video drivers are off or your drives can’t keep up to the footage; both of these will usually cause skipping.

“Oop, I think my render is done!”

    Thanks Ross,

I had to right click the source monitor and set quality to highest. This is what happens when you switch from FCP to Adobe Premiere Pro.

    Thanks again

Those settings become your friend when you edit r3d footage.
