    Hello,

I just bought an HD TV, and saw one of my old music videos that was shot in 4:3 stretched horizontally to fit the entire screen.

I went back into FCP, cropped the 4:3 video to 16:9, have exported it 25 different ways, and still cannot get it to play right on my TV through my DVD player.

Although the 16:9 aspect ratio looks good in Quicktime, when I watch on the TV there are black bars across the top and bottom, and the image is squashed. I don’t mind the wider ratio, but what do I do to make my video fit without it looking skewed?

    Any help would be great!

    Thanks

You need to get to know the aspect ratio settings of your TV!
