  • Footage Automatically down converted

Six months ago I digitized several hours of HD footage at 1080i 1920X1080 Apple Pro Res. Completed the project and all the media files have stayed on the hard driver while I have been making slight revisions to it.

A few days ago I need to combine the complete HD project with a standard def project. I open the HD one then the SD, pulled what I needed from the HD project and just cut it into a SD timeline. It letterbox everything fine and I closed both projects.

Today I opened the HD project and and all Sequence and footage had been converted to 720×486. I have check in the capture scratch and all the footage has appeared to have been down converted. Does anyone have any idea why this happened? I am working in FCP7 if that helps at all.

Never heard of anything remotely like this, FCP never does anything to the original clips (except for deleting them with an option under make media offline).
