Font substitution on export
Hey guys,
I’m working on a credit roll in Motion 3.
If I export directly from Motion to Compressor using DVD Best Quality 120 mins, after Compressor has created the m2v asset, the project font has been substituted on the credit roll with something a lot less fitting!!
(I tried the above workflow on a PAL DV 16×9 project and XDCAM 1080 50i 32bit float project with the same results)
If I export out to QT first or embed the Motion Project file directly into FCP and then into Compressor, the correct font is retained all through the workflow. (I checked the validity of the font in Fontbook too, no problems there.)
So I have the two work arounds and I can get the job done, but I guess curiosity is getting the better of me!! Any thoughts on why Compressor is substituting the font?

Sounds like a permissions issue -Compressor cannot load your chosen font so it does a substitution.
Make sure all the fonts are installed under Computer, not User in Font Book
Then repair permissions.Peter
