  • Font not appearing in some text genrators.

Posted by Gilles Gagnon on September 19, 2013 at 12:42 pm

    Hello,
I have a font(s)on my system which appears only in the “text legacy” and “Sony Pro Titler” generators, not in “Sony Titles and text”.

    Has anyone experienced this?
    any solution?

    Cheers,
    G

Thats probably an issue with that particular type of font,
true type fonts sits well with Vegas.

Gilles, this has been reported to SONY for the past 18 months, in the various builds of VP. I too have my text appearing correctly in NewBlue Titler Pro – no problem, but T&T, nope. Legacy Text is better than T&T but no coconut!

Please go ahead and report this to SCS too.

This is a known bug in Vegas titles and text. They say it is known, and will be fixed in a future update, but nothing ever happens over 2-3 updates while I have known about it.

For me the problem seems to be with OpenType fonts that contain postscript outlines/glyphs. OpenType fonts with Truetype outlines and Truetype fonts seem to work fine.

My problem fonts are those that Adobe Photoshop installed.

The text engine in Vegas however has a limitation for a very
long time, in that you cannot select the Font Style of any font.
You could once, in the very old legacy version.

Vegas 14 — still has the same issue. I haven’t test in Vegas 15 but I’m guessing still a problem.
