  foggy DV

  I have some video footage that I have transfered from VHS to my PC using a Canopus ADVC110 device. Right now I am in process of cleaning the video and saving to the Sony YUV Codec. Don’t think the resaving is really the issue, however on the preview window as it renders, the content looks like a light fog is over everything. More noticable when you are looking at a scene that is black with white stars only on the screen. If you compare the black to the black bar at the left edge that’s always there, it’s drastically lighter than the side bar. Do I need to alter the levels or something? If so, can someone walk me thru how to do this?
