[focus] to moving-indicator – marking regions while watching, without stops
After entering a region, the [moving-indicator] keeps moving along, but the active [cursor] jumps back to the [other indicator line], where playback began. So pressing i o (in-point, out-point) puts the points where playback began, not where it is running. To enter another i o where the video is currently playing, I have to press K (pause) to make the moving-indicator active again. The pause/stop is only a split second, since I press L immediately after K, (then I then O), but it interrupts the flow for others watching on TV.
Can you (a) improve my vocabulary, and (b) tell me:
– how can I set Vegas so that after entering a region, the [active cursor] remains the [moving-indicator]?
or
– how can I switch [active focus] from the static indicator of where playback began to the moving indicator of where playback is?If neither of those is possible, do you know why it’s designed the way it is? (I want my associates to love Vegas, so I want to explain why it works the way it does.)
