I think there’s a lot of potential in this for what I call “Z-keying”. Instead of chromakey, you tell this camera, live or in post, to only image things between set distance A and set distance B, and bam, there’s your roto’d or keyable element, ready for compositing. That blows my mind. Doesn’t that blow your mind? The potential with the z-key ability is also enhanced 3-d imaging. I think this technology is inevitably going to replace imaging as we know it today.
