    Hi all,..

I’m trying to get a flyscreen/grid overlay look over my image in FCP but can’t work out how to do this. I’m after the look that is featured in movies like The Island and other blockbuster Bruckheimer type of films.

Any help would be greatly appreciated…

    thanks in advance,..

Hmm…can’t say I know the exact effect, but I’m willing to wager an alpha travel matte might be of use. I did not see The Island. Is there another movie to reference or perhaps you can describe what you are looking for in a bit more detail to jog the imagination? Take a look at the series Walter Biscardi put together here in the tutorial section of the cow about using alpha and luma travel mattes in FCP. Maybe it’s what you are going for. Swap out his photoshop scribble pictures and cd cover scans for a grid, or perhaps an animated grid.

Thanks guys,..the Digitalheaven was more what I was looking for (grid thing..I’m after a more finer lined and multiple sort of thing) and will do the job till I find exactly what I’m looking for,..

Again,..thanks to both of you for your help..much appreciated.

Oh yeah,..I found a reference for what I’m after…on the new SCANNER DARKLY preview it shows like a “monitor” type grid look over the Keanu Reeves’ face a few times…this is exactly what I’m after..can anyone tell me how to get this??

    Thanks again in advance…
