I have a small PiP centre of frame left. I would like it to 3D flyout to top right corner. When I apply Far X and Y positions the PiP only makes it to the bottom of top third of screen (Y axis) and not quite to the centre of frame (X Axis). This how it should be? …..anyone?.

I’m not sure about this, and I’m not at my editing machine to test it out, but you probably made the PiP with track motion so you have reduced the frame size and it is only flying around the reduced frame size. You might have to make it a child of a parent track (perhaps an empty track even) to get it to move around the entire full size frame? This is just a wild guess, wish I had Vegas installed at my office computer – but then I wouldn’t get anything done:>)

As Terry suggests,if you make the PIP with track motion, you are shrinking the boundaries of the frame. Try making the PIP using Pan/Crop, and your Fly Out transition should work just fine.

You could also create the Fly Out by keyframing the track motion.

Well….. tried that, same problem. The effect I’m trying to achieve is very close to the effect in GlenChungs post below…here….

In my case my PiP fly out disappears under an invisble, horizontal line just under the girls eyes…..doesn’t make it right into the corner.

Post your email address in an answer to this post and I will send you a .veg file that shows you how to do what you want. Its easier than trying to explain it.

Have sent you the .veg. It was made with V6 and I used stock generated media for the events. If this is what you are looking for you can study the .veg to see how it was done or you can put it on your time line and replace the generated media with your media, adjust the durations, etc. Good luck. Any questions, I’ll try to answer them.

I was trying to stop the bots from harvesting my address (it’s probably going to be harvested anyway but I don’t want to make it easy). I’ll try again as I don’t think I was clear. Put the @ sign before the first capitol letter. It should work.
