I have recently been exporting several 1-2 minute sequences as flash files using the Adobe Media Encoder and have recently noticed in some of the videos 1 or 2 solid red frames were added randomly in the video. When I went back into premiere to check the source, they (red frames) were there. So apparently this happened before export. The clips that have the red frames were subclips from a larger clip that was captured via a DV deck.

I then took the red frames out in premiere and exported them to FLV again and the resulting video is perfect. Any ideas about where the red frames are coming from?

It’s most likely a codec issue from the DV footage. I’ve experienced the same red frames when importing .wmv files into AE. Sometimes AE just doesn’t work well with certain codecs. Which one are you using by the way?

Ok i was a little mistaken, the footage with the red frames was not from the raw DV footage. The DV footage had been burned to DVD and I lost the original DV footage and project file so I copied the VOB files from the DVD onto my desktop and then used MPEG Streamclip to convert it to MPEG so I could bring it back into premiere and edit it. So it must have happened when I converted it to an MPEG. Very strange
