FLV export FCP6 Audio trouble

Hello,
I am trying to export an FLV from FCP6.

Using quicktime conversion, I am able to export video as an FLV, resize, crop and make whatever other adjustments I need.

However … All I get is video. No audio channels. I do have the “embed audio” button checked in the audio tab of the”Options” dialog box. But still, there is no audio in the final exported FLV.

Help!!!

I’m not sure what’s going on. How are you playing back the flv? Is the audio codec selected in the encoder installed on your Mac? Describe your settings.

Thanks for responding.

I’ve tried playing back the videos in Quicktime, MPEG Streamclip and Real Player.

I work on a:

Processor: 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon.
Memory: 2GB, 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM

The only audio codec option I have is MPEG 3.

Quicktime does not have it’s own Flash encoder. Exporting FLVs with Quicktime Conversion is an accidental workflow that only happens when Adobe Flash and it’s components are installed on a FCP system, and it is imperfect at best.

So, you have three options:

1) Get a dedicated Flash encoder

2) Get a dedicated Flash engine (other than the one in Adobe Flash) that installs in all Quicktime Components

3) Encode to an .h264 Quicktime and simply change the suffix from .mov to .flv (which works in almost all situations)

From your earlier description it sounds as if you might have Flash Encoder installed. It has an Embed Audio control. You may have encoded the file properly, but not have a player for it. Checkout this free swf-flv player from Eltima:
