Flowing Sine Wave
Hey guys, I was wondering if you had any idea to create like a flowing wave, I’ve seen it in a number of videos and things, especially in the ps3 menu. It’d also be nice if there randomness to the amplitude and frequency to the wave .
I’m just wondering how you create that wave-like motion, is it wave world + Echo + Glow? I can’t figure it out….

If i were you, i’d take a look here:

at dan ebberts’ awesome site and if you know a bit about expressions then just take one of those and start playing with the variables. Then i’d take stick that expression on a particle emitter… Trapcode particular or Trapcode form would probably work well…
in fact, if you have form then you can pretty much use displacement maps in there to achieve that kind of effect.
