I’ve been using After Effects for a few years now but consider myself a dunce at expressions. I’m somewhat baffled by it all – so have completely avoided them ….until now. Anyway I have a project whereby I will have to animate petals on a flower loads of them and sequentially. Now from what I’ve seen this is the kind of thing that expressions does really well. Has anyone done a tutorial on this or is there an expression out there that can help me?
    Thank you… David

you would need to be more specific about how you want things to animate if you wanted help creating an expression or finding a script that would work…

you might also look at echospace, a plugin that is very good at duplicating layers and fairly easily creating complex arrays of those layers. it might be the easiest way to go.

I think we’re going to need more info on what you want the flower petals to do.

The flower is facing the camera – all the petals open up in a mexican wave/ripple around the flower and grow in the same fashion. Does that help?

Just had a look at echospce and that looks like it could do the trick. Thanks. David
