    Hi all,

I’m trying to recreate a flourescent strip light. I’ve been experimenting with tube shaped area lights which seem to be working well although i’m having problems generating a genuine looking tube for the actual light bulb.

Any tips for how I can do this thru materials or any good material shaders?

Any tips would really be appreciated.

    Thx,
    Andy

Fresnel in the Luminance channel (invert the fresnel colors) since the edges are usually darker, with maybe a gradient or noise multiplied on the fresnel (in a Layer) if the tube is getting older and isn’t so evenly lit anymore – usually the ends stay bright and the middle loses a bit first but not always. Then maybe subtle blue or yellow in the luminance/color channels depending on the color of the light.
    A quick try
