  • Floor object scene fade to grey?

Posted by Colin Bowe on March 4, 2010 at 2:19 pm

    Hi all,

I’m putting together a portfolio showreel, its simple enough, just a floor object(white, reflective). As it disappears into the distance it fades to black. Is there any way to make it fade to gray?

Ive tried using filleted cubes different colour backgrounds, etc but it’s never the same soft fade as when its black.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Colin – you can use an environment object and enable the fog which you could set to grey. Or perhaps change your floor material’s luminance value. Possibly a combination of those 2!

I’ve tried the fog idea but (and maybe its just me) the results make the gradient a bit odd. Always being a bit darker at the horizon.

Ill give the luminance a go though.

    Thanks
