  • Flipping field order with Compressor?

    Hi:

I have a bunch of Quicktimes rendered to the Aurora Motion JPEG-A codec, upper field first. These are archival renders of our motion graphics project which we save to edit together for our reels. These lossy Quicktimes have worked fine for editing and encoding into DVD reels.

Unfortunately, Aurora is gone and our Aja Io box doesn’t like upper field first footage. I was hoping there was a way in Compressor to batch compress a bunch of these Quicktimes to the Photo JPEG codec, lower field first, but I don’t see a way to flip the field order. In After Effects I could bring the UFF QT into a 720×486 comp, bump it down one pixel and render it out LFF. Or, I could bring the UFF QT into a 720×486 comp and render it out upper field first, but crop one line from the top and add one at the bottom in the output module, creating a LFF Quicktime.

I was hoping I could use the crop tools in compressor to do this, but it won’t let me enter -1 in the bottom crop field.

Any other approach I should take, other than bringing every one of these UFF QTs into AE?

    I’m using Compressor 2.3.1

    Thanks.
