Hi just wondering if anybody can help me out with something I’m trying to create. Does anybody remember the old alarm clocks that had white numbers on black squares (the squares were hinged through the middle), the numbers would change by the top half ‘flipping’ down to reveal the next number.

I’m trying to create a similar look but with letters and numbers. I don’t necesarily need the letters to be random or sequential, they could be the same letter just with this movement.

Thanks in advance for any help.

In the olden days, we’d have simply shot the clock.
In the old CoSA days, we’d have built each number from scratch and animated the nested moves.

You can export individual movies of the Flip numbers out of LiveType and build your own, totally controllable, sequence. Just takes a bit of work.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
