If the quality is set to high, it is anti-aliased.

But I always add a Gaussian Blur of 0.25 – 0.75 px. to every text-layer
This gets rid of the movement-flicker.

And also an adjustment-layer on top of the comp with a vertical blur to kill detail-flickering.

Of course don’t use a font with too much detail like fine serifs or scripts.

A transparency setting of approx 90% helps. Lowering the Saturation setting to between 16-235 prevents chroma crawl (which may look a lot like interlace flicker) and is a good thing.

The real solution is to put on a field option when rendering. Normally there is “no field”. But try to choose “Low field first” and then render with it. Let me know the result.

I guess it’s how we interpret flickering.

Even with Field rendering, you can still get that slight creeping anti-aliasing error if you don’t blur slightly. Especially when you’re moving text vertically.
You do get rid of jittery or blocky horizontal motion with field-rendering though.
    Having Motion-Blur on helps too.
